PADI® Open Water Diver

PADI® Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level.

A highly-trained PADI® Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.

By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.

How long does it take?

This is a 3-day course that is divided into 3 parts:

  • Knowledge Development: you will begin by completing the PADI® eLearning from the comfort of your home without wasting time with classroom presentations during your vacation. We will send you your PADI® E-Learning Material ahead of time.

  • Confined Water: in your first day you will complete 5 confined water dives with your instructor.

  • Open Water: the following two days, you will go explore Maziwe Marine Reserve and do 4 open water dives with your instructor.

This course will train you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

Time Commitment: 3 days.

This includes everything you need for the course. No hidden fees:

  • PADI® E-Learning & Certification

  • Full standard scuba equipment: BCD, regulator, fins, mask, wetsuit, tanks, weights, snorkel, dive computer.

  • 5 confined water dives: learn and master scuba skills in a swimming pool with a highly trained PADI instructor guiding your every step of the way.

  • 4 Open water dives: Use your newly learnt skills to explore Maziwe Marine Reserve with your instructor.

about the PADI
® Open Water Diver Course

  • YES! We will dedicate our instructor exclusive to your course

  • YES! You will use the BCD to help you float at the surface, but it is very important that you feel comfortable in the water. Also, in order to get your certification, you will need to complete a 200 meters swim test.

  • The Scuba Diver certification is the first scuba certification level, allowing you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet under the supervision of a dive professional.

    The Open Water certification is the first autonomous scuba certification level, which means that you don’t need the supervision of a dive professional. You will also be able to dive to a max. depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

    • Minimum 10 years old

    • Medical Form: You need to fill out a medical questionnaire. With any “Yes” response you will need a medical clearance to diving. You will have to acquire this at home prior to your arrival. Ask us for the form!
